Existe algum número inteiro NN tal que valha
2008×N=2222? 2008 \times N = 222\ldots2 ?

Solução 1: Se existir esse número NN, então
N=22222008=2×11112×1004=11111004 N = \frac{222\ldots2}{2008} = \frac{2 \times 111\ldots1}{2 \times 1004} = \frac{111\ldots1}{1004}
Logo, NN não é inteiro, por ser o quociente do número ímpar 1111111\ldots1 pelo número par 10041004. Portanto, não existe tal NN.

Solução 2: Fatorando 20082008, obtemos 2008=23×2512008 = 2^{3} \times 251, portanto, 20082008 é divisível por 88. Se existisse um inteiro NN tal que 2008×N=22222008 \times N = 222\ldots2, teríamos, então, que 88 dividiria 2222222\ldots2. Por outro lado, sabemos que um número é divisível por 88 se, e somente se, o número formado pelos últimos três algarismos for divisível por 88. Mas 222=27×8+6222 = 27 \times 8 + 6 não é divisível por 88. Logo, não existe um número NN tal que 2008×N=22222008 \times N = 222\ldots2.
