Placement test

Find the point where training should begin.

Starting too low wastes months, and starting too high teaches you very little. The questions start at your school year's level and follow how you do: get them right and they keep getting harder, get one wrong and they ease off. At the end you'll get a stage and the problem to start on.

Before you begin

You'll need pen and paper. These are problems, not mental arithmetic.
About 12 questions. If you're on a run of right answers it carries on a little longer.
Every answer is a letter or a short number. There is no clock, but if ten minutes pass with no way in, press “No idea” and move on.
It's meant to get hard. Nobody gets them all right.
