Algebra Difficulty 4.0 AIME Prove it United Kingdom

Let xx be a real number such that t=x+x1t = x + x^{-1} is an integer greater than 2. Prove that tn=xn+xnt_n = x^n + x^{-n} is an integer for all positive integers nn. Determine the values of nn for which tt divides tnt_n.
