Algebra Difficulty 1.4 Junior Find the answer Canada

If m+1=n23m+1 = \dfrac{n-2}{3}, what is the value of 3mn3m - n ?

Pick one

Solution

Since m+1=n23m+1 = \dfrac{n-2}{3}, then 3(m+1)=n23(m+1) = n-2.

This means that 3m+3=n23m + 3 = n - 2 and so 3mn=23=53m - n = -2 - 3 = -5.
