Algebra Difficulty 1.0 Junior Find the answer Canada

Point QQ is on a line segment between PP and RR, as shown.

If PR=12PR=12 and PQ=3PQ=3, what is the length of QRQR?

Pick one

Solution

Since QQ is between PP and RR, then PQ+QR=PRPQ + QR = PR.

Since PR=12PR = 12 and PQ=3PQ=3, then QR=PRPQ=123=9QR = PR - PQ = 12 - 3 = 9.
