Algebra Difficulty 1.2 Junior Find the answer Canada

If 13\frac{1}{3} of xx is equal to 44, then 16\frac{1}{6} of xx is equal to

Pick one

Solution

Since 13\frac{1}{3} of xx is equal to 4, then xx is equal to 3×43 \times 4 or 12. Thus, 16\frac{1}{6} of xx is equal to 12÷6=212 \div 6 = 2.

Alternatively, since 16\frac{1}{6} is
one-half of 13\frac{1}{3}, then 16\frac{1}{6} of xx is equal to one-half of 13\frac{1}{3} of xx, which is $4
÷\div 2$ or 2.
