Algebra Difficulty 1.1 Junior Find the answer Canada

If 18+18+18=3x18 + 18 + 18 = 3x, then
xx is equal to

Pick one

Solution

Solution 1:

Solving, we get 18+18+18=3x18+18+18=3x or
54=3x54=3x, and so x=543=18x=\dfrac{54}{3}=18.

Solution 2:

Since 18+18+1818+18+18 is equal to 3×183\times18, then 18+18+18=3x18+18+18=3x can be written as 3×18=3x3\times18=3x, and so x=18x=18.

Solution 3:

Since 3x3x is equal to x+x+xx+x+x, then 18+18+18=3x18+18+18=3x can be written as 18+18+18=x+x+x18+18+18=x+x+x, and so x=18x=18.
