Point XX is the midpoint of ADAD and point YY is the midpoint of BCBC. When XX and YY are joined, the trapezoid is divided into two smaller trapezoids. What is the ratio of the area of trapezoid ABYXABYX to the area of trapezoid XYCDXYCD? Explain how you got your answer.
