AA and BB are two points on a circle with center OO, and CC lies outside the circle, on ray ABA B. Given that AB=24A B = 24, BC=28B C = 28, OA=15O A = 15, find OCO C.

Let MM be the midpoint of ABA B; then OMB\triangle O M B is a right triangle with OB=15O B = 15, MB=12M B = 12, so OM=9O M = 9.

Now OMC\triangle O M C is a right triangle with OM=9O M = 9, MC=40M C = 40, so OC=41O C = 41.
