Combinatorics Difficulty 3.9 AMC 10/12 Find the answer South Africa

In a group of 108108 people, 11 in 44 of them has a pen and 11 in 33 has a pencil. What is the minimum possible number of people that have something to write with?

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

3636 people must have a pen and 3636 must have a pencil. If all the people with pens also have pencils, this could be as few as 3636 people in all.
