Algebra Difficulty 4.9 AIME Find the answer

4784 \cdot 78 Solve the equation 3x2+1+3x21270=03^{x^{2}+1}+3^{x^{2}-1}-270=0.

A number or a short expression. Spacing and $ signs are ignored.

Solution

[Solution]The original equation is
33x2+133x2270=0,103x2=810,3x2=34,x2=4,x=±2. \begin{aligned} 3 \cdot 3^{x^{2}}+\frac{1}{3} \cdot 3^{x^{2}}-270 & =0, \\ 10 \cdot 3^{x^{2}} & =810, \\ 3^{x^{2}} & =3^{4}, \\ x^{2} & =4, \\ x & = \pm 2 . \end{aligned}

Upon verification, x=±2x= \pm 2 are solutions to the original equation.
