Algebra Difficulty 1.4 Junior Find the answer

When x=2x=-2, what is the value of (x+1)3(x+1)^{3}?

A number or a short expression. Spacing and $ signs are ignored.

Solution

When x=2x=-2, we have (x+1)3=(2+1)3=(1)3=1(x+1)^{3}=(-2+1)^{3}=(-1)^{3}=-1.
