Algebra Difficulty 2.0 Junior Find the answer
If points P,Q,R, and S are arranged in order on a line segment with PQ=1,QR=2PQ, and RS=3QR, what is the length of PS?
A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.
Solution
Since PQ=1 and QR=2PQ, then QR=2. Since QR=2 and RS=3QR, then RS=3(2)=6. Therefore, PS=PQ+QR+RS=1+2+6=9.
