What is the value of x if PQS is a straight line and ∠PQR=110∘?
A number or a short expression. Spacing and $ signs are ignored.
Solution
Since PQS is a straight line and ∠PQR=110∘, then ∠RQS=180∘−∠PQR=70∘. Since the sum of the angles in △QRS is 180∘, then 70∘+(3x)∘+(x+14)∘=180∘. Solving, 4x=96 gives x=24.
