Algebra Difficulty 1.4 Junior Find the answer

If the perimeter of a square is 28, what is the side length of the square?

A number or a short expression. Spacing and $ signs are ignored.

Solution

Since a square has four equal sides, the side length of a square equals one-quarter of the perimeter of the square. Thus, the side length of a square with perimeter 28 is 28÷4=728 \div 4 = 7.
