Algebra Difficulty 1.9 Junior Find the answer

If rac{1}{2n} + rac{1}{4n} = rac{3}{12}, what is the value of nn?

A number or a short expression. Spacing and $ signs are ignored.

Solution

Since rac{1}{2n} + rac{1}{4n} = rac{2}{4n} + rac{1}{4n} = rac{3}{4n}, then the given equation becomes rac{3}{4n} = rac{3}{12} or 4n=124n = 12. Thus, n=3n = 3.
