Algebra Difficulty 4.5 AIME Find the answer

Suppose xx satisfies x3+x2+x+1=0x^{3}+x^{2}+x+1=0. What are all possible values of x4+2x3+2x2+2x+1?x^{4}+2 x^{3}+2 x^{2}+2 x+1 ?

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

x4+2x3+2x2+2x+1=(x+1)(x3+x2+x+1)=0x^{4}+2 x^{3}+2 x^{2}+2 x+1=(x+1)\left(x^{3}+x^{2}+x+1\right)=0 is the only possible solution.
