Algebra Difficulty 1.6 Junior Find the answer

Jing purchased eight identical items. If the total cost was $26\$ 26, what is the cost per item, in dollars?

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

Since Jing purchased 8 identical items and the total cost was $26\$ 26, then to obtain the cost per item, she divides the total cost by the number of items. Thus, the answer is 26÷826 \div 8.
