AMC 12 late, AIME early
Geometry Difficulty 4.8 Find the answer

4. In a cyclic quadrilateral ABCDABCD, the lengths of the four sides in sequence are AB=2,BC=7,CD=6,DA=9AB=2, BC=7, CD=6, DA=9. Then the area of the quadrilateral is \qquad

A number or a short expression. Spacing, $ signs and \frac vs / are all fine.

Official solution

Because 72+62=22+927^{2}+6^{2}=2^{2}+9^{2}, therefore, BDBD is the diameter of the circumcircle of quadrilateral ABCDABCD, i.e., ABD\triangle ABD and CBD\triangle CBD are right triangles. The calculated area of the required shape is 30.
