Let the speed of boy AA be aa, and the speed of boy BB be bb. Notice that AA travels 44 miles per hour slower than boy BB, so we can replace bb with a+4a+4.
Now let us see the distances that the boys each travel. Boy AA travels 6012=4860-12=48 miles, and boy BB travels 60+12=7260+12=72 miles. Now, we can use d=rtd=rt to make an equation, where we set the time to be equal: 48a=72a+4\frac{48}{a}=\frac{72}{a+4}
