Algebra Difficulty 1.3 Junior Find the answer Canada

The average of 1515 integers
is 1818. The average of 55 of these integers is 1212. What is the average of the other
1010 integers?

Pick one

Solution

Since 1515 integers have an
average of 1818, then the sum of
these 1515 integers is 15×18=27015\times18=270.

Since 55 of these integers have an
average of 1212, then the sum of
these 55 integers is 5×12=605\times12=60.

Thus the sum of the other 1010
integers is 27060=210270-60=210, and so
their average is 21010=21\dfrac{210}{10}=21.
