Geometry Difficulty 1.3 Junior Find the answer Canada

If the point Q(4,2)Q(4,2) is
shifted left 55 units and then down
66 units, the result is point RR. What are the coordinates of RR?

Pick one

Solution

When a point (x,y)(x,y) is
shifted left 55 units, the
coordinates of the resulting point are (x5,y)(x-5,y).

Thus when Q(4,2)Q(4,2) is shifted left
55 units, the coordinates of the
resulting point are (1,2)(-1,2).

When a point (x,y)(x,y) is shifted down
66 units, the coordinates of the
resulting point are (x,y6)(x,y-6).

Thus when (1,2)(-1,2) is shifted down
66 units, the coordinates of the
resulting point are R(1,4)R(-1,-4).
