Geometry Difficulty 1.2 Junior Find the answer Canada

In the diagram, the two identical bases of the prism are shaped
like a star.

Figure 0

The area of each star-shaped base is 400 cm2400 \text{ cm}^2. The depth of the prism (that is, the distance
between the star-shaped bases) is 88
cm. The volume of the prism is

Pick one

Solution

The volume of a prism is equal to the area of its base times its
depth.

Here, the prism has identical bases with area 400 cm2400\text{ cm}^2 and depth 8 cm8\text{ cm}, and so its volume is 400 cm2×8 cm=3200 cm3400\text{ cm}^2 \times 8\text{ cm} = 3200\text{ cm}^3.
