Algebra Difficulty 3.8 AMC 10/12 Find the answer North Macedonia

In a school there are 3232 classes. Six of them have 2929 students each, eight of them have 3030 students each, two of them have 3131 students each and the rest have 3232 students each. How many students are there in the school?

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

The number of classes with 3232 students each is 32682=1632 - 6 - 8 - 2 = 16.

The total number of students is 629+830+231+1632=174+240+62+512=9886 \cdot 29 + 8 \cdot 30 + 2 \cdot 31 + 16 \cdot 32 = 174 + 240 + 62 + 512 = 988.
