Geometry Difficulty 3.5 AMC 10/12 Find the answer United States

Problem:

Find the area of a triangle with side lengths 1414, 4848, and 5050.

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

Solution:

Note that this is a multiple of the 77-2424-2525 right triangle. The area is therefore
14×482=336 \frac{14 \times 48}{2} = 336
