Algebra Difficulty 1.9 Junior Find the answer

A rectangle has a length of 35\frac{3}{5} and an area of 13\frac{1}{3}. What is the width of the rectangle?

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

In a rectangle, length times width equals area, so width equals area divided by length. Therefore, the width is 13÷35=13×53=59\frac{1}{3} \div \frac{3}{5}=\frac{1}{3} \times \frac{5}{3}=\frac{5}{9}.
