Algebra Difficulty 1.8 Junior Find the answer

Robyn has 4 tasks to do and Sasha has 14 tasks to do. How many of Sasha's tasks should Robyn do in order for them to have the same number of tasks?

Solution

Between them, Robyn and Sasha have 4+14=184 + 14 = 18 tasks to do. If each does the same number of tasks, each must do 18÷2=918 \div 2 = 9 tasks. This means that Robyn must do 94=59 - 4 = 5 of Sasha's tasks.
