has area π×(1 cm)2=π cm2\pi\times(1 \text{ cm})^2=\pi \text{ cm}^{2}.

A circle with radius 55 cm has area
π×(5 cm)2=25π cm2\pi\times(5 \text{ cm})^2=25\pi\text{ cm}^{2}.

A circle with radius xx cm has area
π×(x cm)2=x2π cm2\pi\times (x \text{ cm})^2=x^2\pi\text{ cm}^{2}.

Since the mean area of the three circles is 30π cm230\pi\text{ cm}^{2}, then the sum of the areas of the
three circles is $3×30π cm2=90π cm2$.\$3\times30\pi \text{ cm}^2=90\pi\text{ cm}^{2}\$.

Since π+25π+x2π=26π+x2π\pi+25\pi+x^2\pi=26\pi+x^2\pi, we get
26π+x2π=90π26\pi+x^2\pi=90\pi or x2π=64πx^2\pi=64\pi or x2=64x^2=64, and so x=8x=8 (since x>0x>0).
