Algebra Difficulty 1.3 Junior Find the answer Canada

Olivia cuts a 4242 cm length
of string into 22 cm pieces. Jeff
cuts a 4242 cm length of string into
33 cm pieces. How many more pieces
of string does Olivia have than Jeff?

Pick one

Solution

Since $42 cm2\$\frac{42\text{ cm}}{2\text{}}
cm}}=21$, then Olivia cuts her string into 21 pieces.

Since $42 cm3\$\frac{42\text{ cm}}{3\text{}}
cm}}=14$, then Jeff cuts his string into 14 pieces.

Therefore, Olivia has 2114=721-14=7 more
pieces of string than Jeff.
